  Got Dragons?

  hey, lets call a spade a spade.

  came across this while doing some bible reading with the wife.

  she's pointing out to me as i'm doing my #2 talk to her in job 41, gods having to tell job where to get off one day on account of his self righteousness, and shes saying to me, " that's a dragon, he's describing a dragon !!!

  I really think men should LISTEN to their wife a lot more then they do! wives are smart.

  the bible talks about monstrous sea creatures, behemoths, dragons. It was a symbol of evil to be ultimately defeated by the power of good.

  here's another example of dinosaur like creatures:

  and which feeds on grass like an ox.

  what power in the muscles of his belly!

  in this chapter, perhaps job was describing a Apatosaurus or Diplodocus.

  Perfection - Without Defect

  but something perfect has no defects.

  otherwise, they wouldn't be perfect.

  when i first read your post, i brushed it off in my old jw way...thinking, oh the watchtower didn't really mean adam and eve were perfect, perfect. but, then i looked.
  

  
  
  in the The Watchtower November 15, 2001 in the article "Jesus Saves—How?" it clearly states "The very first man and his wife, Eve, were perfect." http://www.watchtower.org/library/w/2001/11/15/article_02.htm
  

  
  
  ok, i knew this. but, i never really thought about it! Genesis 1:31 says "Then God saw everything that He had made, and it was very good." he didn't say "perfect" good is pleasant, beautiful...even exceptional, but not perfect. yes, it's true that they had not sinned...but, that makes them unblemished (exceptional) not perfect.

  obviously these two "perfect" humans eventually produced imperfection which showed their nature. i mean, in the future if we all became "perfect" what keeps us from sinning again and starting this wicked cycle over!! if we take that further and note that jesus and god are perfect, how can we be sure that they will never sin.

  being perfect means never making a mistake or a wrong decision. you are in control. have a perfect understanding. a perfect person could not lack knowledge or how could he/she make perfect decisions every time?

  if we really think about it, it is not logical to believe that someone who is perfect can become imperfect.

  of course, it's obvious that farkel is perfect.

  i was one, when in, that believed it was the best thing to share your talents with those of the bretheren.

  where you a plumber, a carpenter, an auto mechanic?

  then it would behoove you to take those skills and give them to the community of your brothers and sisters.

  i thought with my heart and not my brain. my lips could not mouth the word "no." i did everything like i was working for jehovah. from cutting the circuit overseer's hair to cleaning an elder's garage. i volunteered for everything and everyone. i enjoyed working at quickbuilds & assemblies. what i didn't enjoy is being used. once the brothers would find out you had a talent (or a running vehicle), it was expected you used it for them.

((((joelbear)))) i'm truly sorry. i was angered not only that such a young life was lost...but, that the last part of her life was marred with the horrid experience of judgement and shunning. it makes me completely ill.

  when i hear of someone dying before they have lived, it scares me. it makes me wonder why am i still here and will i be tomorrow?

  i know the subject of funerals has probably been touched on many times. but, i guess i wanted to ask you...do you ever think about your own funeral. and if so, who's there? and more importantly do you care?

  i do not wish to make light of the sorrow and sadness that we all have experienced when someone we love so much leaves. but, it pisses me off that those of us who devoted our entire lives to a religous organization end up with no one at our funeral.

  why can't i have my funeral while i'm alive and invite who ever i wanted? even if you don't know me, you could come and tell me how great i was and what a difference i made in your life. we could play games guessing when and how i will die. i'll laugh and cry...but, at least i'll know i didn't die alone. -whip

  Weight Issues

  my wife has been struggling with her weight since the birth of our children.

  she's done every fad diet and always gives up.

  now she's turned to phentermine, a controlled substance for weight loss.

  Phentermine is a sympathomimetic amine, which is similar to an amphetamine. like amphetamine, it's addictive and harmful...but, hey! it's an upper!! wooo hooo

  if she's having trouble sleeping she may need to tell her doctor to adjust her dose...or take it early in the day. if she decides to stop taking it all together...let me know, i'll email you my address for the left-overs.

  i've emailed laura for extra xanax as well.
